Church Street

2017-2019 – 18 month – £600,000

The Church Street properties we were instructed to renovate are located in Neston, a small town in South Wirral/West Cheshire. This was one of our mid-length refurbishment projects, lasting about 18 months in total. ForHousing owned several properties in the area, including flats and apartments, as well as single-tenant houses.

As a social housing project, we were expected to bring everything up to a high standard for the residents. For our part, this involved installing new windows and doors across the properties, both internally and externally. The units we fitted were of the highest standard, as our client can always expect from us.

Because some of the residents would have mobility problems, we needed to install low-access doors that could be comfortably operated from a seating position in a wheelchair. Likewise, since the properties would include some vulnerable tenants, we had to ensure that windows and doors alike incorporated the latest safety features, for their added peace of mind.

In addition to doors and windows, we were instructed to ensure that the properties were suitably ventilated. This was to prevent the build-up of excess humidity, resulting in condensation and surface damp.
