Philip Street

Philip Street is in Eccles, Manchester, with the building in question being a low-rise block of flats. We were instructed by Liberty to replace the existing window casements with all-new double-glazed units. Not only would this make the building more attractive and the individual apartments more habitable, they also improved the security and energy efficiency of the building. Like all our windows, the models we fitted here were great for both noise and heat insulation. The reduction in heat loss meant that residents would not need to run their heating for as long, resulting in lower energy bills.

In addition to window replacements, we were also instructed to add curtain walling into the living areas of the building. These second walls help to protect the main wall from unnecessary damage from the elements. They are a popular addition to multi-occupancy buildings, as they prevent a single resident’s wall falling into disrepair and impacting on the others.
