EQUANS stands as a market leader in the facilities management sector, operating autonomously as a distinct business entity within the ENGIE Group. ENGIE, a prominent force in renewable energy investment and storage, boasts an extensive real estate portfolio encompassing properties across the United Kingdom and worldwide. Functioning independently within the ENGIE Group, EQUANS shoulders the responsibility of providing technical services and managing the facilities associated with these properties. With a global workforce exceeding 74,000 employees, EQUANS shares a strong commitment with its parent company to the mission of reducing carbon emissions within the housing sector.
EQUANS, a significant investor in the North West, has played a pivotal role in numerous construction projects across the region. We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with them on several of these projects. You can access detailed project descriptions and high-resolution images of select endeavours below. For another recent project, we were instructed to retrofit and upgrade some more EQUANS housing stock, this time in Murdishaw, Runcorn. The properties in question consisted of 130 bungalows that needed to be brought up to a suitable living standard.
As with other EQUANS projects, this was conducted under the PAS2030 scheme. This means that all energy-efficient measures, such as new double-glazed windows and doors, as well as insulation and cladding, need to be fitted by accredited tradespeople to ensure they meet current BSI standards. Being fully certified to handle PAS2030 projects, we were able to give them the benefit of our expertise.
The upgrade process includes installing new doors and windows on each property, as well as replacing the roofs to ensure better heat retention. We also installed external wall insulation for the same reason. The exterior walls were finished with Wetherby render, which is a low-maintenance mix of silicone and acrylic that is flexible, hard-wearing, and resistant to cracking and UV light.
As you can see from these various projects on which we have worked alongside EQUANS, Thextons is a versatile business partner for any construction job.
