The Glen, Max Road, Hayden Road, King’s Heath & Finch Lane
2024–2025 – 18 months – £2.5 million
As part of a government-funded decarbonisation scheme, EQUANS commissioned Thextons to carry out major property upgrades across five locations: The Glen, Max Road, Hayden Road, King’s Heath, and Finch Lane. The scheme, delivered in collaboration with a major housing provider, aimed to improve energy efficiency, security, and comfort for tenants while enabling further measures such as external wall insulation (EWI).
We installed high-performance uPVC double glazing across the properties, fully compliant with PAS 2030 standards and achieving an impressive U-value of 1.0. These upgrades significantly improve heat retention and reduce energy consumption – key outcomes for any decarbonisation project.
Each site was fitted with secure, Visage composite entrance doors. These provided added thermal performance and durability while meeting Secured by Design specifications – an important factor in safeguarding residents. We also carried out aluminium oversilling on window units to enable the effective application of EWI following our installation.
All works were completed under our FENSA accreditation, ensuring full compliance with building regulations and high standards of workmanship.
